Lindsey Reymore and I founded MASCATS in 2018
And were co-chairs from 2018—2020

The Music & Science Colloquium and Teaching Series (MASCATS) is a symposium combining research across the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on how music-related subjects can inform—and be informed by—other disciplines and engage researchers across the university in STEAM-related creative ideas.

MASCATS aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers involved in the cognitive sciences across the OSU campus and among universities in North America. In particular, the focus is on the exploration of music and the mind as it interacts with a variety of empirical disciplines. The target audience for MASCATS includes graduate students, post-docs, and undergraduate students from across the university and greater-Columbus area, including those studying music, dance, English, psychology, neuroscience, speech and hearing science, and those involved with the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD).
